Biography of Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones are a band made up of Englishmen, Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ian Stewart, Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman. The band rose to fame during the “British Invasion” in the 1960’s.
Brian Jones died in 1969 shortly after being relieved of his band duties, he was replaced by Mick Taylor, a 20 year old guitarist. Mick Taylor quit the band in 1974 when the former guitarist Ron Wood from the band the Faces joined the group. Bill Wyman retired from the Stones in 1993 and was replaced by Darryl Jones
The Rolling Stones have released 55 records in the form of compilations and original content. They have had 32 UK and 10 US top 10 singles. The rolling stones have sold over 200 million albums around the world. The Rolling Stones where conducted into the Rock hall of fame in 1989 and ironically enough they were number 4 in the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the top 100 greatest artists of all time. They released their last album in 2005 and then embarked on a world tour lasting into 2007 to promote their latest rock endeavor.
